A LITTLE BIT US, HOW WHERE & WHY !
Pam and Charley moved into 'The Brickmakers' in April 2003, when they moved in, the place was in a very bad state of repair and the reputation superceeded itself as one where you were free to do what ever it was you wanted to do be it drugs or cause a fight.. Now, 'The Brickmakers' is one of the most well known and treasured music venues of it's kind in the region, having scooped a national award last year for 'Best National Music Pub Of The Year' it definately made all the hard work worth while. read on to find out a bit more about the owners and the staff that all make up the very awesome 'Brickies' team!!
Pam South, one of the licensees of 'The Brickmakers' began her career in music by managing her daughters' band. Touring in the UK and Europe and being a member or the IMF forum for professional managers. Always supported local music and junmped at the chance to help local bands by giving the a platform on which to develop their talents.
Charley South, began playing piano from the age of 5, then picked up her guitar at the age of 8 and never looked back. She has been in various bands over the last twenty years, been signed, played with many famous people, toured nationally and in Europe. Her ambition was always to create a place for music that could be used by all ages, somewhere for young people to explore their musical individuality. 'The Brickmakers' has fulfilled that ambition. She still playes with her band 'Pure Passion' and you can sometimes catch her strutting her stuff on the stage down at 'The Brick'...
‘The Brickmakers ’ is here for everyone that loves music whether it's playing it or listening to it. We have provided the stage, the PA, the lights, the engineers... all we need now is for you guys to come and enjoy the wide variety of music happening here!!!.
Emma Teasdale, (B2 Manager) is a smily happy chick who has created a monster of a venue with 'B2', She has been with us from the start, working her way up to manager status. She now is in full control of 'B2' and is definately the lady to see should you want to play here at our venues.. She's the girl with her finger on the pulse of the local original music scene
Kathy is one of our key staff members, you will see her flying around both 'B2' and 'The Brickmakers' throughout the week. Don't underestimate her tinyness, she'll kick yer ass !!!
